Why I am Doing This

​My name is Zachary.

​My nationality is Malaysian but I live in Singapore. I personally think that the children in Singapore are very privileged to have a good and proper education.

Students in Singapore schools have a safe structure  to study in, whereas students in Laos study in a hut. Students in Singapore have access to high quality learning materials, such as good textbooks, an IT Lab, an iPad.

It's my 10th birthday this year on the 28th of December!

S$50 will put a child in Laos through school for one year. 

​I want to raise S$10,000 (US $7,500), which will put 215 children to school for one year.

A bit about Pencils of Promise 
Pencils of Promise, also known as PoP, is a non-profit organization that builds schools and increases educational opportunities in the developing world. PoP was founded by Adam Braun (an Ex-Bainee - like my mum)  in October 2008. It has built schools in Laos, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Ghana. As of December 2016, the charity has served over 35,000 students and built 380 schools.
